Petaluma Trolley had a Speeder on all the tracks except the trestle. They were cleaning up etc. There are 253 pictures in the caboose photo section. It's called "P&SR #6 on Petaluma Track" or http://groups.yahoo.com/group/psrcab1/photos/album/124222178/pic/list

I wonder how long it's been since those tracks saw railroading action? Decades, I would guess. Thanks again for sharing,

Okay, found clear evidence of the turntable at Willits -- unfortunately, you need to be a member of trainorders.com to view the images full-size:

I think you've already seen this image, Chad, which shows the Willits roundhouse before it was burned, razed, or both:

From the tracks leading to it one might surmise there was no turntable, but you'd best ask the experts. Regards,

Chad, there definitely was a roundhouse and, presumably, a turntable at Willits, though I don't remember seeing a picture of the latter (will check the Stindt books and a couple other sources this evening). Try asking member Rod Whitney, as he would surely know about both and about what remains of either, if anything. Regards,

Thanks for the heads-up on the Press Democrat article, Chad! I'll throw a forum post up with the information. Amazing to think we'll see freight trains in Windsor in 4-5 months! Regards,

Mark D.

I have a trailer for transporting it home or where ever. Our back yard has 142 feet of rail so I can roll it into the back along with other speeders, I have 4 plus 3 trailers to pull behind them. I also have a small shed for them. Most of the time the policespeeder resides in the back of our motor home, it has a garage in the back, it id called a funmover motor home.

For now most of my work is security, some times I do minor repairs to fences, or bridges where there is a safety hazard. I also am the interface with the Skunk since they have trackage rights in part of the yard. I work part time since I am already retired. I also get the chance to go out on the rails with my speeder, the one shown on my page with me, my wife, and the K-9 UNIT, my Pomeranian. He has since passed away, but we have two replacements. For now the NWP has nothing I can think of for an Eagle badge, I can't speak for the Skunk.

There are some center beam cars and boxcars that the railroads have abandon. They came and removed the I.D. numbers, so for now they just sit. The ones that are fenced in are waiting until the owners decide what to do. They are probably hoping that the railroad will open and they can be transported by out rail. One passenger car was trucked out about a year ago, it cost the owner 15 thousand dollars to do that.

Hi,

I am an employee of the NCRA so I am the yardmaster for NWP. The Cal-west has no yardmasters. Most of the cars and engines are privately owned. There are a couple that belong to the NCRA. I see from your other comments that your dad is the assistant fire chief in Windsor. I went to school in Willits with the chief, Ron Collier.

Are you asking about the RS-1 from the CCT? It was leased from time to time when we were sort of power. We used it a lot in the late 80s. Jerry
