We made some progress on our N scale Carolan Pacific and were honored with a visit by Tom Barbalet of Model Rail Radio and two friends of his who are visiting from Australia. I'm pleased with our progress and how things are turning out. Enjoy!

'Been working on scenery and ballasting.
Some more shots of the Carolan Pacific: One advantage of our current format is that the entire layout can be easily photographed/viewed from above. A disadvantage is getting eye-level shots, for various reasons. But, we're working on it. We received yesterday a tiny digital camera that fits on top of an N scale flatcar and fortuitously conforms to the standards gauge. It's a stand alone unit that uses a small SD card. A bit more scenery started on the CP, lots more to do...The small rock is from Sonoma Raceway and the large rock is from the Colorado State RR Museum
The Challenger, Berkshire, GP9 and Ten Wheeler all run exceptionally well; we have others that are being "shopped".
We upgraded to the new Digitrax unit recently (big improvement/more power) and converted the "Coach Track" (upper outboard yard track) to a programming track.
More progress on our N scale Carolan Pacific RR. All of the cardboard mock-ups are gone and the primary layer of scenery is nearing completion.Mail train made up and awaiting departure from Motabonita
