Carthage not Rome

 I must assume that people don't see the humor that I add to comments (i.e. Carthage building Rome) I must preface and suffix all my humorously intended comments as humor.

  However, since there is Car in Carthage we are talking about "car loads" of traffic to/from Eureka. The fully loaded cars of lumber would be about  100 tons plus tare wait ( I know that to tarry is to wait) and tarry wait on NWP to reestablish service to Eureka will be long-ton weight. Swing Bridges

I know of the 2 swing bridges of Black Point and Petaluma and the lift bridge at brazos and have a couple of questions?

1. How do they get to the Black Point bridge? by boat I assume.

2. Do the have to walk to the top of the Brazos bridge to operate?

3. Any other moveing bridges on the NWP, either working or nonworking?

Anyone besides me watching the Live Web cam from Rochelle, Ill.?

   This is a live web cam sponsored by Trains Magazine that overviews the crossing at Rochelle, Ill. of the UP main line out of Proviso west and the BNSF line up towards St.Paul from Aurora.  Both of these tracks are double tracks and activity can be up to 100 trains per day. The UP line is the main line west out of Chicago towards Omaha and all points west , northwest and southwest so plenty of rail activity to be seen. Eureka extension or reopening the NWP line north of Windsor

 How about either using large heliocopters to transport the containers to Windsor and then reloading onto rail at that point. All that needs to be done is construting a large facility in Windsor to hold maybe 2-300 containers and enough rail siding length to hold maybe 50-60 well cars. Plus there needs to be a landing sight and storage area for helicopters involved.  These facilities could be used for moving logs/lumber south for transloading onto rail. 500 million to renovate NWP trackage to Eureka? Eureka, I've found it as the saying went. I don't think that I would spend 500 million dollars to go to Eureka? I'd rather go to Saint Petersburg, Russia for that amount of cash/money or indebtedness. Think of all the lumber to be brought out of Arcata/Eureka? They could drop a bunch of them OLD redwood…
