"This is a problem with every transit agency. If someone is dead set on taking a life, then they will. I am of belief that transit systems that are run frequently should be separated from public. With 63 grade crossing in such a short area, that only…"

Michael H Harrison replied to Richard Sotelo's discussion The City of Corte Madera wants a SMART station and Track to Larkspur
"I do recall that the City of Corte Madera and county of Marin acquired parts of the ROW from the railroad (SMART/UP) between 1996 and 2006. At which point that property ends is up for research. The tunnel also has some sketchy ownership issues. Part…"

Michael H Harrison replied to Richard Sotelo's discussion Important May 1st SMART meeting
"It is precisely 39.09 Miles to the station. The initial Smart build cost 427,900,000 for 43 Miles. My guess that because there are less crossing signal requirements, that money would go to the bridge repairs. My best guess is the Black Point bridge…"

Michael    I added to my status 2=24.  In response to your question, I had heard it during the Novato negotiations, then read it in the DEIR dated 2009 part 2.3.3.1 that is available on NCRA website. I have heard it since but I don't recall where.  I sure hope I am wrong as it makes no sense to not offer freight. I could see it in their efforts for the early startup, but after SMART finishes I would think it would be a no brainer.  I think there are a few potential customers still there.  I hope you find this message....
