Very Local Ferroequinology

Thanks (mucho) to Nippon, aka Mr. Fan for the map info from one of his previous posts regarding Hamilton Field trackage.

I discovered that the area where our apartment complex now stands, which was built in '72, has an interesting railroad history.  I've not been able to find any lingering evidence apart from the spacing of some of the industrial/retail buildings to the south that suggest former trackage (with the map as guide).  From other photos and written accounts of days…

Hi Jennifer:

No please don't hold back from posting important news items like you are doing.

I just returned from the SMART board meeting and the survival of this old NWP road is at stake due to many issues.

When I first joined the, I had known about Mark and his work at the Menlo Park Caltrain station but had no idea of the issues surrounding the re-establishment of the NWP now SMART RR.

So if I appear a bit sensitive, bear with me as I am working closely with the SMART board not only on the passenger development but their co-existence with the New NWP freight road.

Keep those posts coming and also love your personal stories.

Yes, my second time to Afghanistan, once to Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, & Bahrain. I have been mobilized since Mar2003. Each of the before mentioned deployments were one year each. The other five years, I was at Fort Lewis training Soldiers to deploy around the world.

I hope I can start and enjoy my hobby now.... ;)

Thanks Jennifer,

I am back! I am back in the US. I just completed my last overseas tour. I cannot believe how tired I am. I keep breathing a huge sigh of relief.

Hello Jennifer!

Good to have you aboard this Forum. I was wondering about the locomotive in your avatar, is that one from Niles Canyon? I'm going to have to get down there one of these days to check out thier operation.  Regards, Bob B.
