I must've gone by that spot 1000 times going to school and work over the years, and I never noticed the lights facing the parking lot. Nice find!

Another odd thing about this crossing is this view to the right of the above image:

Warning lights that face the parking lot.  I assume the concern was that some people might simply drive off the curb and potentially into a train.  Unique.  Would have been an interesting engineering debate to witness.

I think this might be to protect the lights from the elements, but I'm not sure. I want to say the ones at Kenmar are also bagged. I don't have a picture of the sign. I think it was informing the public about the speeder rides

I've never seen this done before.  Are the warning lights bagged because they were being activated (needlessly?) by the speeders, or to communicate to motorists that the lights are out of service?  Would love to know what the sign says on that traffic barricade.
