Dedicated to Sharing the Heritage of Redwood Empire Railroading
All you railfans headsup! The UP will be having a celebration Sept 29 & 30 in Old Sacramento.
Among other things the 844 Big Boy is supposed to be there.

844 is not the Big Boy.
Yep, its the Challenger. Sorry dealing with a plane crash outside my house last night, 4 adults and a young girl burned to death and we couldn't get them out. Brain isn't on track again, yet. :-(
UP 844 is a 4-8-4 northern locomotive. The 844 is the only steam locomotive in America to have never been retired by a class one railroad
damn, that sucks. If you see the family offer my condolences.
They were all from Fresno there is a short 31 sec video on You Tube, under Lake Tahoe Plane crash, fireball was about 100 ft tall. The local air show had just ended about 5 hrs before also, but they weren't part of it. Second plane crash we've had in 26 years in the meadow on our end of the airport. I heard that one but didn't see it.
