That's awesome, congrats! The hard work has paid off.  I am sure you saw, but the NCRA has applied for two Tiger Planning Grants, one is for the reopening of the line from Windsor to Ukiah, and the other, for reopening the line from Samoa and Arcata to South Fork.

Thanks guys! Who gave it three stars? haha

Yeah, I was doing 12mph in the hirail.

Richard- I have seen them, the tunnel looks nothing like your photos! I suppose they switched to concrete portals after you took those.

Thanks for the ride! I spent my summers growing up in Loleta. Bob Hogan and I photographed the tunnel, both ends, in 1961. You can see the photos on my page in the photo section.

Many thanks to THA for their work clearing the line. I wish I could be there to ride the speeders!

Very Nice Video!  (Thanks for mounting the camera to something!)

Those speeders were really speeding!  It looks to me like 25 MPH, but I'm probably way off.  More likely 10 MPH (about one mile in six minutes?).

Hopefully those two rails will be shiny again soon from all these runs!
