This was during the aftermath of the Island Mountain Tunnel Fire. The line was closed for 15 months. It cost them over a million to move these engines, and in the end they realized it wasn't worth it.
That does not look like the graveyard in Eureka.
Looks like hills in Mendocino or points north.
Leave it to SP to try and save a unit that was phased out of nearly all Class 1s many years before. Very nice video!
