Comment by Charles Forssi on December 5, 2011 at 5:34pm We need to get those cabooses running on the NWP for photo purposes. Who can I call to put in an order for a caboose train. Wouldn't that be nice for a NWP Christmas scene. Imagine #1922 with some freight cars and a caboose in the rear. Wouldn't that make a nice Christmas card for the website to sell.
Comment by Dave S. on December 4, 2011 at 7:24am Yes, another great video! While I was watching I was saying to myself "10 cars? I only see 9!" then the pickup of one car at Burdell! It was great to capture that unusual movement on video! May never see that again. Was that car "bad ordered" and left there for reapirs on the last northbound movement?
Does anyone know whether the dwarf signals on the Burdell spring switches are working?
Comment by Mike Manson on December 3, 2011 at 11:09pm The next issue of The Northwesterner will have an article about the start-up of service on the NWP. Motive power and rolling stock will be included. However, you must be a member of the NWPRRHS to receive The Northwesterner. You can join by pressing the NWPRRHS tab in the upper right corner of this page and following the link on becoming a member.

Comment by Zachary M. Toler on December 3, 2011 at 6:43pm Steve-if he wasn't using it back in August, too, then it'd be a holiday horn! :-)
Charles-Good question! There are at lease two ex SP cabeese in Schellville, but I'm not sure who owns 'um. So far NWP hasn't run using cabooses, to the best of my knowledge.
Comment by Charles Forssi on December 3, 2011 at 5:45pm Does the NWP own any cabooses? Do they ever run them if they do?
Comment by Steve Atnip on December 3, 2011 at 3:03pm I prefer to think of it as a holiday horn!
Comment by Zachary M. Toler on December 3, 2011 at 12:13pm In the very last scene, there is a horn noise that isn't coming from RJC. What might that be? Is that wanna-be NWP employee w/the vuvuzula back? Even if he tried to ruin your video, this is still one of the best yet, Steve!

Comment by Steve Atnip on December 2, 2011 at 9:12pm After I started publishing the video, I realize that it is misleading, the train LEFT from Shellville, but the shot is about a mile north of hwy 37/Infineon raceway. In the few quiet moments while I was there, I could hear race cars from the track. Would have been nice to have gotten some of that!
great video in Schellville
