NWP 2009 pulling 1 car of concrete tie to Santa Rosa and pulling 8 empties south. There were also 6 grain cars in the consist. 6/26/2012

not only that, D kosdrosky would have been in the path of the car if it had been hit.

That car made it across with only 7 seconds to spare!  It was over the track at 1:17 and 2009 was over that same spot of road at 1:24!  I'm breathless!

At 1:15 you can hear that car really accelerate before flying over that crossing.  What a knucklehead!  It seems that some people are still confused about what to do when those red lights start flashing and bells ring.  Then this guy then stops between the gate and track!  [Insert expletive here.]  If there was a collision it almost certainly would have been fatal:  2009 was really hauling!  I would hate if one of our NWP railfans became a witness to such a tragedy.  In this case we would have had two videos of the carnage.

The car was caught on the wrong side of the gate, and from D kosdroky's video, it didn't look like the car would clear.

Nice grab, Mike!  Did that car cross the tracks illegally or did it come from the side street?  Couldn't quite tell.  Thanks for sharing!
