These are plastic pellet cars and not standard grain cars from Petaluma.
I'm surprised they are still there sitting so close to residences. Surely those hoppers have/had some residual grain in them making them rat In and Outs. Must be a surplus of these cars for the leasing co. to let them sit so long. Maybe indicative of the slow down in large corp beer sales.
Apologies for the brain fart listing the Wine Train in reno. I know better.
The hoppers there are car storage, the Daylight car was moved to Schellville in the beginning of June, I saw 1501 come up and grab it. Shortly after that it, was taken over to CalNorthern and then the Wine Train in Napa. Looking back at the pictures, the hoppers were brought up around the 7th of June and then they came back and got the Daylight car a week later on the 13th.
Those hoppers have been there since before June. Maybe Feb last year. I saw them today as I drove into Windsor.
The old Daylight coach previously parked south of Healdsburg RR bridge and sometimes seen when you open the Main Page of this site was also parked with them on that spur but was vandalized and soon moved.
Anyone know where she is now? Maybe in reno to join the enlarged wine train?
