I'd expect that is a trade secret, more or less. As I recall, their contract with NCRA has a threshold profit provision. When they reach that point they have to kick back a percentage to NCRA. The threshold was pretty high. You could probably guess whether they've passed it (not likely) by checking the contract (on the NCRA website, I believe) and NCRA's income statements. Suffice it to say, it doesn't appear that NWP Co. is losing money at this point. Short haul lines are often not big money makers, though. I recall reading somewhere that in it's heyday, NWP was one of the most profitable short haul roads in the nation, even given the maintenance challenges in the Eel River section, and that was in the days of picks and shovels.
