Hi guys. We looked at putting a wine train on the line from the bridge at Larkspur through Schelville . Do you think it's still a good idea?

Interesting route for a wine train, as the vineyards are mainly between Sears Pt. and Schellville.  Would love an excursion train on that route, but it would be cool if the existing Napa Valley Wine Train would continue south to Vallejo (and connect with the ferry), or over to Schellville, then to Ignacio, and up to Healdsburg (Richard!), or beyond.  That could be a great all-day run.

How I wish I could take the train to Eureka for a weekend get-away!

Also, if you hadn't heard looks like GGRM is moving to Shellville and will be looking for excursion opportunities. Might be tough to get enough business to support 3 private railroads

Michael:

Good thought.

But as usual it is about finances and SMART would have to fund the renovation of that RoW.

I would prefer the money be allocated to heading north to Healdsberg and Cloverdale.  I would also expect outrage from north Sonoma Cty taxpayers for any delay on moving north.

Good to have you back Michael.  Come out and ride the SMART train.

And a heck of an opportunity to provide train service to events at Sonoma Raceway, imo.  :-)
