I am not a modeler. A columnist at the Marin Independent Journal suggest that the Northwestern Pacific and SMART get together to explore using SMART's and Northwestern Pacific to run rail service from Novato to Vallejo along highway 37. I see this as a way of lessening this traffic artery. I have already sent exploratory letters to Supervisors Judy Arnold (Novato), Hannigan (Solano), and Wagenknecta (Napa).
thanx 4 your info on the Napa Wine Train. i believe i saw 1 or more of their passenger cars near the Willits depot June 2nd. will shortly post a summary of current rail industry status in Nor. Cal. (if i can still figure out how to do that)
[oops - see! - i didn't even direct the Wine Train comment properly].
Keith left the network yesterday (deleted his account) so the situation appears to have resolved itself. He was more interested in a site with strictly factual and historical content, if I understood his complaints correctly, and was regrettably unable to ignore content which did not meet his standards. Much as I hate to lose members who are clearly interested in the NWP, as he surely was, it was likely for the best that he did leave (for his own peace or mind, if nothing more).
Thanks for your understanding and patience in the matter, and here's to more peaceful days ahead! Regards,
Welcome to the NWPRR Network, Richard! Please take a look around and let me know if you have any questions or comments. We're adding content daily and actively recruiting new members -- please feel free to invite your own friends if you think they may be interested. Regards,
