Dedicated to Sharing the Heritage of Redwood Empire Railroading

Departed work at Richmond BART Yard at 7:46 PM and drove across the bridge to Exit 452.  Arrived at the San Rafael Station at 8:10 and parked next to the NWP mailine tracks.  Now this might not be anything special to most of you, but I hadn't been to San Rafael in forty years and never had seen the station at all.  So I stood on the running rail and enjoyed the moment remembering that the NWP's train the"Redwood" had departed for Eureka from this very spot during its finally days as a common carrier.

Enjoyed the presentation and movie of the lumbering operations on the north coast.  Bought a souvenir NWP herald(see above; available from NWPRRHS website for 12 dollars), dropped a donation into the NWPRRHS caboose bank and returned to the East Bay.  So what did you do last night?

Regards
