Dedicated to Sharing the Heritage of Redwood Empire Railroading

My first time seeing the NWP was as a young man right out of the military. I had heard the stories about the road but not until I started hauling lumber out of the north coast did I get a look at the road.

I was born about 20 years to late to see the NWP in it greatness, but I finally got the chance to ride the line when the North Coast Daylight was running. That was a wedding present from my second wife and something I will never forget.

It was in 1985. I took several pictures but I am not sure where they are at the moment. We a starting to pack for our move at the end of Sept. so if I run on to them I will post as many as I can.

Shannon, when did you ride the North Coast Daylight? Would love to see any images you may have from that trip. Thanks for the post!
