I was looking at Google maps this morning and noticed that the new large estate near Glen Ellen has what looks like a garden railroad.

Not sure who the owner is but I think he is a Silicon Valley millionaire.

What do you think?

Go to Wikipedia and check out John Lasseter.
Very interesting guy.

My friends parents are really good friends with John, and thay say the locomotive(s) that he's rebuilding is a former Disneyland Railroad steam locomotive that was used to switch cars around their yard and pull privite excursions at the park.

Yes it would. He keeps to him self but rumor has it that it's going be, surpise..surprise a cartoonish theme. I maybe able to get a photo of the locomitive so I'll post if i can get it.

It's John Lasseter's ranch. It's a 3" guage layout. He has a steam locomotive 0-4-0 being rebuilt for it. Not sure when it will be finished or up and running.

Holy crap! I was in that very area when I was investigating the old ROW of the SP line that ran up to Santa Rosa along route 12. There's still some embankments and culverts that you can see along the route too. Shame that I would miss a neat thing like that.
