I discovered that the area where our apartment complex now stands, which was built in '72, has an interesting railroad history.  I've not been able to find any lingering evidence apart from the spacing of some of the industrial/retail buildings to the south that suggest former trackage (with the map as guide).  From other photos and written accounts of days…

I think that was from a Marx Bros. movie...

Here's a couple of shots taken today on the Carolan Pacific featuring our 500' viaduct that I've been working on.

Carolan Pacific Railroad

Greetings!

Many months since last posting and many changes.  We moved, to the SFO area; sadly had to say goodbye to our beloved Pasito Southern Railroad when we relocated.  We have been working on our new layout, the Carolan Pacific Railroad; this one in N scale and in a format that can be moved.  There's ups and downs for sure and a lot to love.  More on the CP later.

Our move also brought us closer to the historic and modern JPBX/UP line.  In fact it's across the…

Shop Goat for the PSRR

We acquired 101 on our trip to LA last month. It's our first official Pasito Southern locomotive; formerly AT&SF. It's been converted to burn oil; ladders have been added for access to the oil tank and weathered.…

UP 2431

I cleaned the locomotive with Windex on a make-up sponge, while wearing disposable gloves. I do this on all weathering projects to remove fingerprints/dust etc. I masked the lights; windows; the speaker grills under the fuel tank and the area between the truck…

It is nice...

to share model railroading and railfan stuff in general, vice fb, because it is quiet, clean and pleasant like a library.  Not so with the other place. Just trains here and I can relax.
