NWP GP9s\SD9s

when the line ran from 96-98, did the NWP own the black widow GPs and SDs? or were they leased? i can't find a solid confermation in the two years ive been looking. I know that when the line shut down, the locos were sent back to Omnitrax, but 2 stayed.

Wheres # 112?

Hey, i had one questine. I recently visited the Cal State RR mueseum, and explored pretty much the whole site, but could find no trace of NWP 10 wheeler #112. The closest i came to a NWP piece of rolling stock was one of the NPC locos on display in the round house.

This was on the NWP for quite a while as the lone passenger service vehicle before AMTRAK started up. The second is a Whitcomb switcher currently at the Port of Sacramento. It too will soon see the scrappers torch if someone does not step forward to take her to a new home, SOON.

NWP Forever

My first time seeing the NWP was as a young man right out of the military. I had heard the stories about the road but not until I started hauling lumber out of the north coast did I get a look at the road.

I was born about 20 years to late to see the NWP in it greatness, but I finally got the chance to ride the line when the North Coast Daylight was running. That was a wedding present from my second wife and something I will never forget.
