I am working on an HO model of EUKA 51, and was wondering about its interior and how EUKA used it, if ever. What color was it painted inside? What kind of furnishings were in it? Was it ever on the…Continue

Zachary M. Toler commented on Zachary M. Toler's event Dolbeer Donkey Days at Fort HumboldtThis is my first attempt at a blog, so here goes! Welcome, Folks! OK, I had an idea, what kinds of loads could be on the NWP in the near future? We know they have covered hoppers of grain for the two feed mills, and lumber for Standard Structures, but what's next? How about gravel export, a container port on Humboldt Bay, maybe wind turbine parts for the planned project on Bear River Ridge? I want your thoughts, what do…

Zach! Sorry it took so long to accept your friend request, I haven't logged on in months!
Have been crazy busy building our excursion train on the old SP Placerville Branch east of Sacramento. Things are looking good, we are starting our second season of public rides Easter Weekend.
Keep taking pictures, your work is really looking good. Let me know if you get to Sacramento any time soon, we can do CSRM and then get you out on our ROW.
Keep Rollin'!
Eldon G. Whitehead said… Hi Zac. Thanks for the welcoming. Also thanks to Mr. Drury. I ran across this site by accident while working security at College of the Redwoods. As a long time member of the community and a 42 year employee with The Pacific Lumber Company, I've always been enterested in the history of the Company and the railroad system there. I was close friends with some of the crew who worked old #29. John Zimmerman the the engineer, Cecil Williams was one of the brakemen, along with Gurld Daniel. Gurld is the one on the back of #29 when it was doing a switch. I have posted on my site, a picture of #29 switching a box car up to the side of the old Fibre Plant where I worked. Enjoyed looking at the pictures that are posted on this site. As far as your Mom & Dad goes, good luck with getting them to join. Best wishes
Hey Zachary, the "Invite More" feature has been on the network from day one, I think, but it's not all that obvious. We've had a few members use it over the past couple years and it seems to bring a good number of new people into the fold, so please do make use of it if interested. Thanks!

Zachary, Read your comment re: doctors, very true with some, not all. Very common with the RNs though. I see it daily, I go into an isolation room, gloves, gown, mask if required. Nurse pops in to fiddle with IV's etc, no protection for themselves or the patient if in neutropenic isolation.
I was reading some old headlights and I saw something in there about a house fire in Alton in the 1960s. The house in question belonged to MR. and MRS. Robert Tolar, I was wondering are they relatives of yours?
Thanks for the feedback on the More button, Zachary! I'm glad you like it, and it should make a whole bunch of other members who have been asking for it happy, as well. Now, on to a dedicated Activity page! Regards,
Mark D.

We did use both of the CCT engines from time to time. I have used the 42 on regular trips to Scotia, work trains, and a good day as a pusher engine from Fort Seaward back to Willits.

Harry A Marnell said… I'm on YouTube now! I don't have any videos yet, and I may make the account invisible at times if I receive too much spam/hate/trolls, so I can deal with them. I will post the link here when I take my channel public. Not everything there is NWP or even train related-that's the only disclaimer. I am not asking you to subscribe or anything, but you can check it out if you want to. Here's that link-http://www.youtube.com/user/NWPrailfanZMT?feature=mhee Please tell me by leaving a comment on this page if you click the link and it doesn't work at all. As I stated, my channel will be invisible at times, and if you see a "This channel is not available" message, that's what's up.
