SMART Test Trains at Santa Rosa Railroad Square

On April 21st, 2017, I caught SMART testing two train in the same block, minutes apart. The first northbound train, 101, arrived at 7:38. The second northbou...

Washout at Healdsburg

When walking the Foss Creek Pathway in Healdsburg, I found this rather nasty washout behind the Silveira car dealership. Another heavy storm and there won't be anything left under the rails!

"Looks like the paint booth at Alstom's Mare Island facility. The light package seems to match the 2700 block of SP's late switcher fleet, though I assume the number, 1501 is new, as it doesn't match any SP roster info I could find."

"It would be wonderful to have a switcher on the NWP again - I missed out on setting the sw1500's back in the day. Perhaps this will be the new local power for switching out Petaluma - we do have the Lagunitas and Dutra spurs going in this year!"

Coach #6 "Tuolumne" at Healdsburg 2

"Yes I saw your post re: the ATSF coach.  But as an 80 ft long coach trucking seems impractical as well as expensive.  It may sit in Shellville for some time. "
