" We had some Rock Island U25B's in Denver (Northyard) with the same sounding Nathan's.  They were very old nuts and bolts units.....but sounded like streamliners out on the plains of Colorado.  Thanks for the soundbite…"

Horns Of The NWP

Just thought I'd get a blog started on the different horns in use on the NWP both past and present.

Pictures and descriptions soon to follow.

There are several different horns in use on the NWP currently but the only horn actually owned by the railroad is a Nathan Airchime K3LA. It uses a common trumpet combination of 1 2 and 4A and sounds just like 70% of the mainline railroad power running out there. And that is the reason why it isn't…
