Why didn't the train stay on track it was on?  Looks like fine bit of trackwork with real ties and joints.

When will SMART be up and running?   I presume that  folks will  flock ro the rails there by eliminating all the congestion on 101.

Assuming their LED driven signals?  Sometimes the camera doesn't catch them lit, when they really are.

Steve - please refrain from divulging all my proprietary photography secrets... ;-)  LOL!  Here's my photo tip of the day for this location: a short ladder is required to shoot over the new fence.  I used a two-step ladder, but I still had to hang over the fence sideways in order to shoot down the line.

Regarding the dark signals observed by Dave S., I did notice, just moments before this image was captured, a southbound test train triggered the signals (main=green; siding=red).  I have the photo sequence of the signals activating/deactivating, but I'm having trouble with the lamp colors since they appear washed out, most likely a result of blowing out the sensor on my camera. I'm experimenting with photoshop (yep, you heard that right) in an effort to present the signal colors accurately.

And yes, Don, the sun and clouds cooperated very nicely that day!

Thanx.

Ron makes heavy use of photoshop. Here's the original picture.

Nice catch, Ron!

I'm surprised that the signals are dark.  I thought the whole SMART system had continuously lit signals.
