Standard structures closed in 2011 after being sold to redbuilt a company in Idaho. Only 3 or 4 carloads of lumber were delivered before the closure. Dick caletti the owner of standard structures wanted to develop the property into a business park and use the rail spur to transload for other businesses in the area. It never came to fruition and most of the property has been leased to companies that are using the yard area as a storage area. I think there is tons of potential business for the nwp to transload there but it has never been approached correctly but that is my opinion.

Richard:  Standard Structures in Windsor was among the first to ship with the NWP when operations resumed in 2011.  I believe the company failed a year or two ago then came back to life under new ownership, but I don't really have the details.  Perhaps our friends in the Santa Rosa area know the status of the former Standard Structures site.

It would be nice if the NWP handled other commodities besides grain.

Thanks Carl-

So I looked up both of these businesses and found the following.  Sonoma Pacific is in a cutthroat business building pallots for many industries but there is major competition in that biz with products from Mexico.  All Truss seems like that company that used to be up in Windsor where the NWP did transloading.  Scratching my head but cannot remember their name but I would expect that given the AllTruss products portfolio that they would ship outbound too.

Do you or others know?

Richard, Sonoma Pacific and all truss have been customers for about 2 years recieving center Rams with lumber the last few years. They had the spur replaced that ran across 8th st east into thier facility.

I will assume that is a retail yard in Schellville and that is why it is empty.

Is this a new NWP customer?

Thanks RCB.

The CB came from Sonoma Pacific Lumber in Schellville, returning to another place to get loaded I guess.

That is one BEAUTIFUL picture.

But why is the CB empty going to Lombard?

I was talking to my fence contractor yesterday and he told me that the majority of the redwood lumber he sees and uses is from Redwood Empire in Cloverdale.

Must be coming down by truck.
