Mark-

Regarding the former NWP 4423 (ex SP 4423). Today its on PLA's Niles Canyon Railroad , sporting the original 5472 in SP Blackwidow paint. You may want to correct/update the notes in roster.

The Pacific Locomotive Assn bought the 4423 from OMLX and has restored it as SP 5472. It is now operational on the Niles Canyon Railroad (with the NWP 30 caboose).

Bill, would really like to see your photos from the Roseville trip, if they are in digital form. Regards,

In 1983 I was headman on a tranfer job from E Mpls to Milwaukee Road(SOO-CPR) St Paul Yard. This picture was taken by someone, and I found it in a book, "Chicago & Northwestern Ry, post Steam-Era"
I was taken just east of the Mississippi River(500') where the main lines(7) used to occupy the area in St Paul called 'Dayton's Bluff.'
