Make sure you attend a steam up this year folks!  Could be the final season @ Ft. Humboldt.  The State is threatening to take the bear Harbor #1 and put her in storage.  We may never get to run her again!  please write your govt. representatives to save Ft. Humboldt and keep the Bear local.

Great news Thad! Hopefully an angel will appear and solve the long term storage, restoration and display problems.

We'll all keep positive thoughts that it will happen soon.

Good news everyone, THA has signed a lease for a small chunk of property adjacent to the Historical Samoa Round House Complex in which to store our collection.  Volunteers have been hard at work sorting the artifacts out at Fields landing for weeks and we now have a place to store them.  All the smaller items have been sorted and put on pallets.  We are now attempting to arrange for heavy equipment to move rolling stock.  The down side here is that there is only 10 days left until the new owner takes possession of the property.  We are praying for an extension on the dead line considering our progress.  Also, the flake board plant in Arcata is being torn down, so the A & MR #101 must now also be moved out to Samoa.  We are still just renting the Roundhouse and the lease on the Danco Property is also short term.  Crazy trying to save save history when so many factors are working against us.  At least the entire collection will soon be in one place.  Pray that we can somehow purchase these properties. Another forced move could break THA for good.  We have spent all our treasury on moving equipment and volunteers are running out of steam.
