What products does everyone use for that classic Northern California look on their layouts/modules? Or, how do you achieve that look?

Looking to see if anyone has updates on their NWP-themed (or related) layouts, locomotives, and rolling stock. Trying to get back into it and would love some inspiration!

Good morning, all!

We recently moved into military housing, with a spare bedroom! Looking to start a small switching layout in my home office.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a person/company that can paint & decal a custom locomotive for me, without sacrificing an arm and a leg for price? I’ve already added or will add most components (plow, A/C, etc), so it’d just be paint, decals, and maybe a little weathering.

I appreciate it,…

Before you all harp on it, I’d love to learn how to do it myself, and I will eventually, but personally I’d rather get to building the layout first :)

At long last we, my wife and I are going to start our ho gauge layout. We are going to model the NWP from the Ukiah yard to the Willits yard and interchange with the CWR. I am looking for the track plans for the 2 yards from 1945 to 1950. If anyone has any maps or other info about the 2 yards showing the track layouts I would so appreciate your help. I have spent a lot of time googling but either I am not looking in the right places or I am just not good enough with this high tech stuff,…

I want to fabricate the handrails (because the Athearn ones are A) not prototypical and B) all around incorrect for any S12) but I want to buy brass tubing/plates for the railing parts.

Special thanks to trainweb.org/mccloudrails for the picture (also a very informative website, worthy of a visit and a read).

The unit has MU capability, with the drop-steps and MU column at each end.

What size brass tube and plate should I use for the railing? I was going to use mostly Details West for parts like the horn and the actual MU detail. Many thanks in advance!
NWP Harriman Business car NWP 06 Redwoodtag:nwprr.net,2017-11-07:3290209:Topic:1781912017-11-07T04:11:17.306ZCyrus Gillespiehttp://nwprr.net/profile/CyrusGillespie

Looking for info on what this car was lettered on numbered or both below the windows. It appears in black in the photo Richard Todd or Bob Hogan posted many moons ago on this site but can't make out the lettering due to the angle of the photo. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Athearn announced a new line of GP9's, with one of their announcements being BN GP9s. I was amazed to find that #1922 is in there, prototypically accurate.

Its time to stock up on Microscale decals for NWP 1922!

Just about finished with my 1501. I used a Atlas MP15 body with an Athearn SW1500 cab. I also cut the Athearn light package off to give it the correct SP light package with the head light covers. I have a wow TCS decoder installed. Thanks for looking!
