Has anyone heard how NWP will handle businees when construction starts?  With the Bridges at Petaluma and Novato needing to be replaced, will make it a little tough to run trains.  The rail all being replaced with welded rail...etc   How will they be able to make trips?

the SMART constuction people have the ability to shut the NWP down for an 18 day period during which time SMART has to pay shippers the diffence between the cost of rail and truck. I don't know all the details, but I know someone I can ask.

was just curious how it will be handled

I wonder if the 18 day period is all at once, or if it means they can shut down the NWP for any number of days, on and off up to 18.   They will need a chunk of that time to install the new bridge.
