Dedicated to Sharing the Heritage of Redwood Empire Railroading
After reading the article, it seems that the city of Eureka is trying to clean up the town and is now targeting the railroad. I personally think blaming the problem on the railroad is the wrong answer. Being a former resident of the county, humboldt county's problem will not go away by attacking the railroad for an economy/drug/whatever else problem they have. Basically the county and the city of Eureka need to understand that the railroad is not causing the problem, the decisions the area choose to make (end logging, stunt fishing, and killing industry and business) is the cause of the behavior that they seek to end. There are no jobs, high drug use, and no hope for the citizens of that community. What else do these people have options for. But its the railroad's fault? end rant.
