This was a collection I had read about years ago, but never heard of anyone that had them. Does anyone here have them? Are they any good? If so, any idea where to get them?

I converted my old Pentrex California Northern VHS tape over to DVD, and plan on doing the same with the Pentrex NWP VHS, and the CWRR VHS too. Just thought, it might be good to do a whole shootin' match at once.

As promised, here is a review of the DVD produced by Catenary Video Production of the operations of the various lines of the Redwood Empire including the NWP and the California Western. The 600 volt electric powered train service out of Sausalito is well covered and the ferry boat service is shown in detail including a boat engineer barring over the engine to get the ferry moving. Special heliocopter views of the ruined NWP line after the 1964 floods are remarkable. There are many surprises in this dvd, the narrow gauge, the yard at Tiburon, engine number 46 out of Fort Bragg. My only negative would be that the steam operation in the Eel River section is tagged onto the end of the skunk train section but at least it's there. Well worth the $35 dollar price. I picked up a DVD recently at an LA train hobby shop, a Pentrex video documenting day to day operations on the SP/NWP around 1992/1994. If you haven't caught this yet, its worth it. I'm about half way through. It had nice shots of the operation of the Napa, Petaluma and Black Point bridges, and yard action in Petaluma. It's amusing to hear the narrator speak about frenzied activity in the Petaluma yard. You really get a sense of the teamwork and organization required to get cargo from one end…
